Have you been diagnosed with high blood pressure? Or warned that your blood sugar level is high and you are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes? If this sounds like you, Sis I was just like you.
There was a time when donuts held me captive. Imagine this: driving past the Krispy Kreme donut store, the warm glow of the “Hot Donuts” sign beckoning. Resistance? Impossible. I’d pull into the parking lot, grab two dozen donuts, and devour six right there,
But then, the corona virus pandemic hit, and something shifted: the need to reduce my risk for COVID became greater than my desire for donuts. I did everything my doctor advised but I couldn't normalize my blood pressure.
Then, one day, looking for an activity for the women in my private Facebook group, Minding the Temple, I decided we would all do a seven day no added sugar challenge.
Guess what happened. My blood pressure decreased. I avoided added sugar for 10 months. I lost 27 lbs., my blood pressure normalized, and my doctor discontinued my medication.
But that’s not all. The other women also had remarkable improvements in their health: less joint pain, better sleep, more energy, brain fog cleared, no more shortness of breath or chest pain. One lady said she could, “feel the inflammation leaving my body”. Could this all be related to sugar?
I’ll never forget the day I drove past that glowing “Hot Donuts” sign and felt…nothing. No pull, no craving, no compulsion to stop. That moment wasn’t just a victory—it was liberation. The joy wasn’t simply in eating less sugar, but in realizing I had rewired my brain to eat less sugar and resist sugar cravings. I was now in control of my "sweet tooth".
Two questions I get asked all the time:
“How did you stop eating so much sugar?”
“How do you stay in control?
Guess what? I’m teaching my methods in a free masterclass:
What if cutting back on sugar meant more energy, less inflammation, and lower risk for chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, strokes, dementia, insomnia and some types of cancer? Would you try it?
This isn’t about perfection or eliminating every sweet bite—it’s about small, smart changes that give YOU the power over your health.
